Tripollo: Group Trip Planner, by Workaholic Developers. Last updated: 11 October 2026.
Tripollo helps a group of friends or family agree on one trip. We collect only what the planner needs, we never sell data, and we do not use ads, analytics or third-party trackers.
What we collect
Your light account (app). A display name you choose, a drawn avatar (a colour and a small badge, never a photo), your language, and optionally a UPI ID so friends can pay you back. There is no email address, phone number or password. A recovery code lets you move your trips to a new phone; we store only a keyed hash of it, never the code itself.
Your device. A push notification token from Apple (APNs) or Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can tell you about your trips, the platform and the app version.
Your trip answers. Your budget range for the trip, dates you are free or busy, days you already have off, how much leave you can take, the trip length you prefer, your departure city, the kind of trip you like (vibes, pace, stay, transport, food), must-haves, deal-breakers, a short optional note, and whether you travel with children, elderly people or with accessibility needs.
What you add to a trip. Polls and votes, plans, itinerary items, checklist items, packing items, shared expenses and settlements, and comments on items.
Web responders. Friends who answer in the browser get a personal link. We store only a hash of the token in that link. The browser keeps one strictly necessary first-party cookie per trip that remembers this link so the invite page can bring you back to your answers. No other cookies are set.
Budgets stay private
Exact budgets are stored encrypted. They are read only by the planning engine on our server and shown only to the person who wrote them. The rest of the group sees a rounded band that works for everyone (for example "₹8k–12k works for everyone") and counts such as "fits 5 of 6 budgets". If a stretch is suggested, it names who it would put over budget, never by how much.
Who sees what
People in a trip see each other's names, avatars, whether they have answered, departure cities, votes, and what they add to the trip hub. Personal packing items are visible only to their owner. People outside a trip see nothing; an invite link shows only the trip name, the organiser's first name, the months, the shortlist and who has answered.
AI plans
When someone asks for a day-by-day plan, our server sends xAI (the Grok model) an aggregated trip brief: the destination, dates, number of people, the group's budget band, pace, the strictest food need, the group's top vibes, must-haves and things to avoid, whether children, elderly people or accessibility needs are involved, and the departure cities. It never includes names, individual budgets or anything that identifies a person. Plans are labelled "AI-suggested: verify prices and timings". If the AI is unavailable we use our own template instead.
Service providers
- Hosting: our own server in a data centre operated for Workaholic Developers.
- Push notifications: Apple Push Notification service; Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android.
- AI plans: xAI, with the aggregated brief described above.
We do not share data with anyone else and we do not sell data.
How long we keep data
Trips and answers are kept until the organiser deletes the trip or you delete your account. Demo trips are deleted after 7 days. Push delivery logs are deleted after 30 days.
Your choices
- Delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account). This deletes the trips you organise and your answers, votes, comments and personal items in other trips. If you paid or owe something in a shared expense, your name in that trip is replaced with "Former member" so the group's totals still add up.
- Web responders can delete their answers from their personal link ("Delete my answers").
- Leave a trip at any time from the trip screen.
- Notifications can be switched off per category in Settings.

Children
Tripollo is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
